The Airport Group was the sole advisor to the town for the successful sale of a 50-year lease of the Port Hedland International Airport for $205 million. The first stage of the mandate was to undertake a scoping study of the airport, which included a full planning and commercial review. The Airport Group’s airport planning and commercial knowledge identified the steps required to ensure the airport could be prioritised and maximise the proceeds to the Council.
The project included preparing a 20-year financial model of the airport, liaising with the WA Treasury Corporation, reviewing council accounts for the airport operation, and advising on airport transaction value.
