TAG was engaged by the Whitsundays Regional Council to produce an Economic Base Case and Master Plan for the Airport. The purpose of the first phase (the Economic Base Case) was to identify and quantify the key economic drivers, opportunities and risks influencing potential expansion of the Whitsunday Coast Airport and development of adjacent lands. Following this, the purpose of phase 2 (the Master Plan) was to build on the work undertaken in the previous planning appraisal and investigate potential land use and development options for the site, through the preparation of a limited number of Master Plan options. TAG provided four apron design options, two taxiway options, and four terminal expansion/development options. Once options were confirmed, a preferred master plan was developed.
